When Grandma Cologie’s grandson left for his first deployment, she reminded him that at 2100 (9:00PM EST) every night she would send up a prayer for him. No matter where her grandson was in the world, he would know when he glanced at that time that she would be praying for his safety and God’s protection over him.
Grandma Cologie then began to add other names along with her grandson’s. She started praying for his fellow enlistees, leaders, and other members of the military, as well as their family and friends.
She had a recurring alarm set on her phone so that she would never miss that 2100 time slot. Often times, she was in the presence of many other people and on various occasions when the alarm would ring, they would ask about why.
“Who sets an alarm at 9:00PM?!”
Because of this, the habit of praying began to grow – a chain reaction occurred and many people liked the idea that she had. They wanted to also designate this time of their day to prayer and, so, started setting their own alarms at 2100 so that they could pray for our military personnel home and abroad. They join in prayer for her grandson and add names of their own friends and loved ones in the military – making the list personal and unique for each prayer warrior.
Grandma Cologie sends her love and prayers to each person reading this, and she invites you to join her in prayer for all of our United States military personnel at 2100 (9:00PM EST) each night.
